When looking for a healthy option away from all-so-ordinary cafeteria food at Lindenwood, it’s tough to find a nearby healthy option with places like McDonald’s and Taco Bell handy. Now rest easy because a new GREEN, healthy option opened up just a mile east of I-70 in the new Streets of t. Charles development off Fifth Street. Prasino, which stands for green in Greek, is an up scale, lively, healthy new restaurant that is passionate about serving only the healthiest ingredients that St. Louis and other local communities have to offer. Prasino has partnered with many local farmers, vineyards, ranchers and brewers who take great pride in their craft to provide excellent options. The foods are all organic, free of pesticides, hormones and antibiotics. But that is not all; Prasino’s decorations are all recylced, reused or repurposed. For example the bar chairs are made out of reused seatbelts. The cool thing is no one would ever guess that the interior is not new because of the modern details. The restaurant initially had origins in Chicago where the owner had three previous restaurants before bringing the emerging brand to St. Charles.
